Sussex County Community College

Sussex County Community College offers a general medical assistant diploma program at its Newton campus, where students will learn the skills needed to complete both clinical and administrative tasks. Students who complete their training will be eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam. Students can begin their training in either spring or fall, and the program covers three semesters.

Lincoln Technical College

Lincoln Technical College offers a medical assistant certificate program at several New Jersey campuses; Edison, Moorestown and Paramus. Students will gain externship experience in real world settings, which will help to prepare them for a medical assisting career.

American Institute of Medical Sciences and Education

At its Piscataway base, AIMS offers a medical assistant certificate program that also includes a 100 hour online training course in Electronic Health Records (EHR), which will result in an EHR specialist certificate. Students can attend day or evening classes and in addition to classroom hours, must complete a 200 hour internship.
