St Louis College of Health Careers

St Louis College of Health Careers offers both a medical assistant degree and diploma program at its St Louis city campus. Students have the option of completing their training at day or evening classes. Students will receive instruction in the multiple administrative and clinical duties that medical assistants are expected to perform. In addition to learning the clerical skills needed to work in the front office of a medical facility, students will learn a range of clinical skills that will be needed to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals. For example, they will be taugh how to perform basic lab tests, sterilize medical instruments, and administer injections. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the AMT (American Medical Technologists) exam to earn the title of RMA (Registered Medical Assistant.
