At its campuses located in Jackson and Hattiesburg, Healing Touch Career College runs a medical assistant certificate program where students can complete their training at day and evening classes. Students will take foundation classes in healthcare subjects such as medical terminology, anatomy, and psychology, as well as learning front office and back office skills, including medical laboratory procedures and phlebotomy. Prior to the completion of their training, students will put their skills into practice on a supervised externship, where their performance will be evaluated.

Northeast Mississippi Community College

Northeast Mississippi Community College runs both medical assisting technology degree and certificate programs, which are CAAHEP accredited. Training is delivered through a blend of tradional lectures, lab classes and hands on externship experience. Students will be instructed in the range of skills required in clinical and administrative medical assisting and will be prepared, on completion of their training, for employment in medical offices and clinics.
